Dear Friends-

At long last, all of the votes have been counted!

While my final vote tally was not enough to push me over the top this time for a seat on the Marin Healthcare District Board, I am very proud of our campaign and am quite pleased with my showing in this crowded field of eight candidates. Only one other first-time candidate beat me- a physician who has been in this County for many, many decades.

As a relative newcomer to Marin, I was honored to run on a progressive slate with Dr. Jennifer Rienks (who did win) and Jonathan Frieman. We raised many important issues that I know Dr. Rienks will work hard to address in her four year tenure on the new Board. Jennifer will need our continued support- so PLEASE be sure to stay engaged and assist her and her fellow Board members in navigating Marin General back to community control.

In the end, 15,007 Marin voters put their trust and confidence in me, and I am so very grateful to all of you for your support! I also want to thank my many donors and volunteers who believed in me and were willing to back it up with your precious time or a contribution- thanks to all of my loyal and trusted friends, family members, colleagues, acquaintances and fellow activists. Your support was truly appreciated!

True to its legacy, this campaign was a hot one- with distortions about our campaign being thrown around by a winning candidate EVEN weeks after he won the election! Yet from start to finish, we ran our campaign on substantive health policy issues that deeply matter to our County's residents- and I remain very proud of our effort.
